Dr. Isabel Caballero, a postdoctoral researcher who develops her work at the ICMAN, has got a contract through the postdoctoral programs of the National Research Council Associateship-RAP (http://sites.nationalacademies.org/pga/rap/), whose purpose is to promote excellence in scientific and technological research by the U.S. Government. Investigation will be conduct for three years at the headquarters of the prestigious Oceanographic Institution NOAA in Washington DC (http://www.noaa.gov/) under the supervision of Prof. Richard Stumpf. The objective of the project is to use optical remote sensing data of the ocean to improve the characterization of turbidity and transparency of coastal waters in order to map the seabed on a global scale.
