The Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas (CSIC - Spanish Council for Scientific Research) informs users that the access and use of the web page www.csic.es and all the subdomains and directories included under the same (hereinafter collectively referred to as the Portal) are subject to the terms detailed in this Legal Notice, without prejudice to the fact that access to some of these services or contents may require acceptance of certain additional General Conditions.

The CSIC reserves the right to make changes in the Portal without prior warning, for the purpose of updating, correcting, modifying, adding or eliminating the contents or the design. Because the information is not updated immediately, it is suggested that users should always check the validity and accuracy of the information, services and contents presented. Similarly, the conditions and terms included in the present Notice may vary; consequently users are requested to review these terms each time the new Portal is visited.

The CSIC does not accept responsibility for any damage or prejudice that may be caused by the utilisation of the tools and information contained in www.csic.es with respect to the decisions that may be taken on the initiation, execution or result of administrative procedures. Such decisions should be checked in the competent centres, bodies or units. In any event, it will not be permissible for the information and contents of this Website to be cited in any legal actions taken against the Public Administration. No responsibility is accepted for any discrepancies that may exist between the printed documents of the competent Administration and what is published electronically in these pages.

Both the design of the Portal and its source codes, and the logos, brands, and other distinctive signs that appear in the Website belong to the CSIC or to collaborating entities, and are protected by the corresponding rights of intellectual and industrial property.

Except where indicated expressly to the contrary, it is permissible to reutilise the information available in this website; the total or partial reproduction, modification, distribution and communication of such information, for commercial and non-commercial uses, is authorised subject to the following conditions:

• Under no circumstance whatsoever is the denaturalization of the content of the information permitted.

• The user is obliged to cite the source of any documents reutilized.

• The user is obliged to quote the date of the last updating of the documents that are reutilized.

The Higher Council for Scientific Research (CSIC) declares its respect for the Rights of Intellectual and Industrial Property of third parties; therefore, if it is considered that this Website could be infringing any such rights of third parties, you are requested to communicate this matter to the CSIC.

Those users who propose to establish a hyperlink between their own website and that of the CSIC must take into account the following:

1. In no case does the establishment of the hyperlink imply the existence of any relationship between the CSIC and the owner of the website, nor the acceptance and approval by the CSIC of the contents and services of such a website. Therefore, it must not be stated nor given to be understood that the CSIC has expressly authorised the hyperlink, nor that the CSIC has supervised or accepted the contents and services offered or the availability of any positions of employment indicated in such a website.

2. In no way does the CSIC accept responsibility for, nor guarantee, the quality, accuracy, reliability, morality and conformity with any accepted standard, of any contents or services that the establishment of the hyperlink might offer. The user assumes, under their own exclusive responsibility, the consequences, damages or actions that might be derived from access to the website of the hyperlink.

3. It is not permitted for the website in which the hyperlink is established to contain any brand, nomenclature, logo, slogan or other distinctive sign belonging to the CSIC, excepto those signs that may form part of the hyperlink itself.

4. It is not permitted for the website in which the hyperlink is established to contain information with contents that are illicit, contrary to morality and to generally accepted good customs and to public order, nor may it contain contents contrary to rights of third parties.

The CSIC expressly prohibits the carrying out of “framings” or the utilisation by third parties of any other mechanisms that might alter the design, original configuration or contents of its Website.

The CSIC is the entity responsible for the data file generated with the data of personal character provided by the users of the website www.csic.es.

In accordance with the Organic Law 15/1999 of 13 December regarding the Protection of Data of Personal Character, the CSIC undertakes to comply with its obligation of secrecy with respect to the data of personal character and with the duty of treating such data as confidential. To these effects, the CSIC will take the necessary measures to prevent the alteration, loss and unauthorised access or treatment of such data.

The purpose of the automatised collection and treatment of personal data is the management, provision, expansion and improvement of the services requested at any particular time by the user and the monitoring of consultationsmade by users.

The user will at all times be able to exercise the rights of access, rectification, cancellation or opposition, by communicating in writing with the General Secretariat of the CSIC at the address C/Serrano 117, 28006 Madrid (Spain), accompanied by a photocopy of the user's DNI, or by means of the Electronic Register of the CSIC located in its Electronic Head Office, for which the user must have a recognized electronic certificate.

The CSIC maintains the levels of protection of its personal data in conformity with the Royal Decree 1720/2007, of 21 December, by which the Ruling for putting into effect the Organic Law 15/1999, of 13 December, for the protection of data of personal character, was approved; and has put in place all the technical measures at its disposal to prevent the loss, incorrect use, alteration, unauthorised access and theft of the data that citizens may provide to the CSIC, without prejudice to the fact that security measures on the Internet may not be impregnable.

The CSIC reserves the capacity to modify the present Privacy policy so as to adapt it to any novelties deriving from legislation, jurisprudence, or interpretation by the Spanish Agency for the Protection of Data. In this case, the CSIC will announce these changes, indicating clearly and with due advance notice the modifications effected, and requesting, in the event that it may be considered necessary, the user's acceptance of these changes.

The law applicable in the event of any dispute or conflict of interpretation of the terms that comprise this Legal Notice, and of any question related to the services of the present Website, will be the law of Spain.

For the resolution of any conflict that might arise occasioned by the visit to the Website or from the use of the services that may be offered in the Website, the CSIC and the User agree to submit themselves to the Judges and Courts of the domicile of the User, provided that these are situated in Spanish territory.
